Audiences Amazed As Celebrities Race

This year, The Amazing Race: Celebrity Edition, recruited a group of famous faces and took them away from their luxurious lives to sweat, panic and vie for a pretty prize of $100,000 for their chosen charity, not to mention bragging rights.

When the Race began, 11 teams embarked on an adventure of a lifetime across the world. They were pushed to their limits, faced their greatest fears and ate some questionable animal appendages for the sake of our entertainment.

With an absolutely stacked cast including former Yellow Wiggle Emma Watkins to musician Ben Gillies, “it girl” Bec Judd, TV royalty Grant Denyer and Survivor’s George Mladenov, this year’s celebrities and their loved ones, were taken on a wild ride against the stunning backdrops of India, Malaysia, Cambodia and Borneo.

From dance challenges to making shoes, getting their tuk tuk license to eating tarantulas, this group of racers saw, danced, played, ran, paddled, hiked, drove and ate it all in the name of their chosen charities.

But when it came to the final three, this truly amazing race took even another unexpected turn when unbeatable race leaders, Darren McMullen and nephew Tristan stopped short of the mat, choosing instead to wait until all three teams had arrived so they could jump together and share the prize across three worthy charities.

In an emotional and historic final Pit Stop, Darren and Tristan shared the win with singer Alli Simpson and mum Angie, as well as Emma Watson and sister Hayley.

The three charities that took a share of the $100,000 prize money were Feel The Magic, The Leonie Jackson Memorial Fund and Dementia Australia.

This generosity truly embodied the spirit of the show and audiences loved watching this season with the results to prove it.
