Australians are tuning into 10 for the laughs, the entertainment, the big sporting moments, and the news that matters, and total audience growth across comedy, entertainment, and sport shows they’ve been paying attention.
Tamara Simoneau, VP Content, Paramount Australia, said: “Aussies are hungry for content that makes them feel something and we aim to deliver – with the warmth and joy of MasterChef Australia, the edge-of-your-seat tension of Australian Survivor: Redemption, or the belly laughs courtesy of our hit comedies like Have You Been Paying Attention?, The Cheap Seats and Gogglebox.
“These shows are entwined into the lives and weekly rhythm of fans and that’s a privilege we don’t take lightly. Add in the roar of Formula 1 and the passion we all share for the Matildas and Socceroos, and you see an audience that is showing up, leaning in, and coming back.
“And there’s more to come in the second half of the year with The Traitors launching in August, our brand-new comedy format, Parents’ Evening with Shaun Micallef, and the return of Australia’s original social experiment Big Brother!”
Grant Madigan, VP Sales, Paramount Australia, said: “The breadth of what performed for us in the first half of this year is what makes our commercial proposition so strong.
“From comedy and reality dominating the entertainment conversation – MasterChef Australia, Australian Survivor, Have You Been Paying Attention?, Gogglebox – to the sport that stopped the country – Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix, the A-Leagues, AFC Women’s Asian Cup, CommBank Matildas and CommBank Socceroos – we have given brands consistent, premium environments across the first half of the year. And we delivered that national audience across free-to-air, streaming, subscription and now on new platforms like LG FAST Channels.
“Heading into H2, with highly anticipated shows like The Traitors and Big Brother, and new season of the A-Leagues, our partners have the opportunity to build on real momentum in cultural moments, accessing proven audiences, with one unified sales team.”
