DEI & COMMUNITY
It's At The Heart Of What We Do.
Optimism and determination, inclusivity and collaboration, and agility and adaptability are the guiding pillars for all we do – from hiring to community impact and beyond.
We share a positive belief that we can navigate and thrive in the landscape ahead. Embracing new and diverse voices, act with care, and work together to capture opportunities and manage through challenges.
We think entrepreneurially, are resilient in change, and move quick to anticipate and create what’s next.

Corporate Responsibility
Every day, we work to make a positive impact on the people and communities where we live and work. We leverage our positive and diverse culture to offer programs that empower, engage, and inspire our employees, audiences, and company to make a real difference in our communities around the world.
Across community engagement, giving, sponsorships, sustainability, reconciliation as well as diversity, equity and inclusion, we intend to make a positive contribution to our employees, audiences, industry and community.
At Paramount ANZ we are committed to using our power as a global content creator to drive change that has a positive social impact.
We have forged partnerships with community organisations who share our values and together we collaborate on ways to deliver positive and meaningful change.
Some of our partners include Career Trackers, Mirri Mirri, Media Diversity Council, Screen Diversity and Inclusion Network, The Pinnacle Foundation, UnLtd, Youth Off The Streets, MAAD, Indigenous Literacy Foundation and Sustainable Screens Australia.
Reconciliation Action Plan
In 2020, we launched and implemented a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), the first commercial broadcaster to do so in Australia, cementing our commitment towards reconciliation with First Nations and Torres Strait Islander peoples, as well as embedding positive and sustainable cultural change.
Developed within the framework of Reconciliation Australia’s RAP program, our program centres on building meaningful relationships with First Nations and Torres Strait Islander peoples, organisations, networks and education bodies. We also promote reconciliation with internal and external stakeholders and the media as a whole.
We have expanded our NAIDOC and National Reconciliation Week activities to celebrate and empower our First Nations and Torres Strait Islander peers and deliver content that acknowledges and champions the diverse histories of First Nations and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
From celebrating First Nations cultures and histories to providing more education and employment opportunities, we’re excited to advocate for a more inclusive future.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Creating a safe work environment for all our employees is paramount and we thrive on the mission to ‘bring your whole self to work’. We’re committed to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and fostering a culture of belonging. One which holds leadership accountable for creating, developing, promoting and championing a diverse workforce where all employees can achieve and contribute to the company's success. We believe that to be the best creators and storytellers, our company must reflect, celebrate and elevate the diversity of our audiences.
In 2021 we launched and began the implementation of a business-wide DEI Plan that paved the way for partnerships and programs, led by employee resource groups (ERGs), to help our staff understand inclusivity in action and for everyone to feel empowered to be themselves at work.
ERGs are employee led, ensuring that the business supports topics and issues that are important to our workforce.
We have launched a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) ERG and PROUD ERG, to support minority groups internally and externally by championing their voices and raising awareness using our unique position in the industry.
Our RAP ERG guides our work in celebrating First Nations cultures and histories, both internally and externally to our business partners with community organisations including Career Trackers, Mirri Mirri and Media Diversity Council Australia across awareness, education and employment opportunities.
Our PROUD ERG, enriches the professional and personal development of LGBTIQA+ employees and allies, championing the voices of the group within the community and on-screen. The group partners with The Pinnacle Foundation and Pride in Diversity.
ESG and Sustainability
We’re taking positive action to foster a better world for our employees, audiences, partners and communities. Our environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy is critical to our success and we’re committed to reporting on our impacts and sharing our progress.
The media and entertainment industry is one of the most powerful forces influencing and reflecting culture, social views, and societal outcomes. We are early in our journey of telling our ESG story and started by publishing our first company-wide materiality assessment – a comprehensive analysis and our first ESG report in 2019-2020.
We produced our second annual ESG report in 2021, and expanded upon our initial reporting and commitments, including the publishing of our in-development companywide ESG goals across our three priority areas: On-Screen Content and Social Impact, Workforce and Culture, and Sustainable Production and Operations.
In 2022 we were proud to announce our seed investment in Sustainable Screens Australia (SSA), the first Australian commercial broadcaster to support the establishment of this vital organisation that aims to transform the Australian screen production industry and build capacity at all levels to reduce our collective environmental footprint in line with science-based targets.
SSA will create an online hub for best practice checklists and toolkits, industry specific training, a vendor/services database and social impact partnerships to support the local screen industry to adopt a standardised approach to sustainable production.
We are committed to seeing this as an industry-wide priority to reduce our carbon footprint and are dedicated in actioning this.
Community Sponsorships
We love getting to know our audiences and what better way than to get amongst it – literally! We’re proud sponsors of a number of community events across Australia that allow us to connect with our audiences IRL (in real life!).
We love fashion and let people know this by supporting the Adelaide Fashion Festival, Melbourne Fashion Week and Brisbane Fashion Festival. We also love fun-runs and are major sponsors of the Westpac City Bay Fun Run and the Perth Running Festival.
Other events we’re proud to support include the Brisbane Comedy Festival, the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, Big Walk for Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Telethon SA.
It doesn’t stop there. We’re always on the lookout for ways to connect with our audiences in their community.
Workplace Giving
We have loads of opportunities for our people to come together for a good cause and personally donate what they can to charities in need. It’s win-win really.
Our workplace giving program, Paramount Gives (formerly 10 Gives), focuses on supporting four key foundations throughout the year to provide our resources in help of raising awareness and funds. In 2022, Paramount Gives partnered with UnLtd whose partners include Youth Off The Streets, MAAD, The Pinnacle Foundation and Indigenous Literacy Foundation.
Staff have access to Community Service Leave which is encouraged to be used to support the four foundations supported through the Unltd Partnership.
Across the calendar, staff have opportunities to be involved in donation drives and volunteering activities that help raise awareness for the partners, as well as create change in the wider society.
