Heather Mitchell, Georgie Parker, Hugo Weaving And David Wenham Lead An All-Star Ensemble Cast, Including Wayne Blair And Catherine McClements.

Paramount+ and Roadshow Rough Diamond are thrilled to unveil Dalliance, a bold six-part drama exploring the messy, complicated and deeply human lives of 60-somethings who refuse to be defined by their age.

Dalliance, which will premiere later this year, is a heart-wrenching, affectionate and at times hilarious relationship drama in which a group of best friends discover that life, love and sex in their 60s are not what they expected.

The outstanding ensemble cast includes AACTA award winner Heather Mitchell (Narrow Road to the Deep North, Love Me, Fake), two-time Gold Logie winner Georgie Parker (Home & Away, All Saints), six-time AACTA winner Hugo Weaving (Slow Horses, Patrick Melrose, Love Me), Silver Logie winner David Wenham (Fake, Elvis), Wayne Blair (Kangaroo, Redfern Now), Catherine McClements (The Family Next Door, The Survivors ), Kate Winter (The Witcher), Carolyn Bock (Wentworth), Russell Dykstra (Rake, Ladies In Black), Kirk Torrance (The Pact, Dark Horse), Ryan Panizza (Anyone But You), Tess Bowers (He Had It Coming), David Roberts (Colin From Accounts, The Matrix Revolutions) and John Doyle (Roy and H.G.).

When charismatic ex-cameraman Billy (Hugo Weaving) meets restaurateur Dani (Heather Mitchell) on a Sydney Harbour ferry, their worlds collide. The attraction is undeniable, and sparks might fly… if Billy wasn’t happily married to Rose (Georgie Parker), his wife of 40 years.

Billy brings Dani home to meet Rose, triggering a series of life-changing events which have far reaching consequences. Their closest friends and family are impacted; intimate relationships are formed, and others shattered. Lies are told, memories are unreliable, and absolute truths are never known.

Heather Mitchell joins John and Dan Edwards from Roadshow Rough Diamond as producers of the series.

Roadshow Rough Diamond is the award-winning producer of Bump and Romper Stomper, and John Edwards previously produced series such as Offspring, Tangle, Love My Way and The Secret Life of Us.

Dalliance is executive produced by Paramount Australia Head of Scripted and Comedy, Sophia Mogford and Pip Karmel. Series writers are Pip Karmel, Jock Serong, Christopher Lee and Liz Doran, with Matthew Saville and Emma Jackson directing.

Sophia Mogford, Head of Scripted and Comedy, Paramount Australia, said: “Paramount+ is thrilled to be working with Rough Diamond again on this timeless series. Dalliance is about a group of friends who have history. It encompasses love, rivalries, jealousy and passion, but most of all connection, themes that we all relate to and our audience will relish.”

Heather Mitchell said: “If you think you’ll get it all worked out by your 60s, think again.”

Producers John Edwards and Dan Edwards said: “It ain’t over yet… this is a story about embracing life before the knees give out.”

Dalliance is supported by Screen NSW’s Made in NSW TV Drama Fund.

Screen NSW Executive Director Kylie Munnich said: “Screen NSW is thrilled to support Dalliance and the entire creative team, led by producers Dan and John Edwards, on what promises to be another fan favourite series.”
