Michael began his career in London, a humble junior copywriter often sleeping in the office to impress his unforgiving creative bosses (and to help with rent). He worked his way up to become the youngest Executive Creative Director of famed agency George Patterson and went on to lead creative departments at Australia’s largest and most awarded agencies, including a stellar 5 years as Regional Creative Director for MasterCard Priceless, one of the world’s most famous ad campaigns.
Modest, unassuming and always focussed on the success of others, he was not your typical Creative Director and his experience is also unlike most. He has filmed in more than 20 countries, writing and at times directing all forms of content, working with some of the biggest sports stars, actors, comedians, and chefs in the world. He even had the privilege of writing comedy scripts for Phil Dunphy (Modern Family) and directing Dustin Hoffman, full of nerves. Michael not Dustin.
10 years ago he brought his unique creative skills to the world of media and quickly built a team that created award-winning campaigns for Lipton, Dell, M&M’s and Tourism Australia, and a recent Logie nomination for Most Outstanding Children’s program.
Michael is thrilled to be head of Paramount Brand Studio, an opportunity that combines all that he loves; an endless array of ways to help brands connect with viewers, the privilege of working with one of the most specialised and respected teams in the industry, and the chance to build a collaborative and empowering culture ready and eager to help embed brands in cultural conversations.
