Have You Met Fede?

What is your role and what does it entail?

My role is a Production Assistant to Executive Production, working as EA to a few of our Network EP’s, and working as a production assistant helping connect and distribute content between our internal teams and the production companies that make our great shows. I’ve been with the team for exactly one year as of June 17, so I’m settled but still experience new challenges and opportunities on a day to day basis.

What do you love about your job and working at Paramount?

I love working in a fast-paced environment, problem solving ideas and getting to learn the ins and outs of all the roles that help put content on our screens.

What are the challenges in your role?

Challenges can be giving every show the love it deserves. When working across so many shows there can be days where you have to prioritise one over the other, so making sure every show gets what they need on a busy day and solving problems that arise can make for some busy afternoons. But at the end of the day, the show goes on!

Where do you see yourself in five years?

I think the one thing I’ve learnt since being in the media industry is you need to be comfortable with the unknown. So where I’ll be in five years, I don’t know the answer to today. But what I will say is if in five years I’m in a position where I’m still contributing to the creative process, in a role that has growth and I’m apart of content that has meaning to people then I’ll feel like I’m on track to the creative person I’d like to be in my career.

What’s your proudest personal and career moment?

My proudest career moment is when I came fresh out of Film Uni, I worked for a corporate events company where I implemented video content into their business for the first time. From our first video being how to log on to their platform to then making over 200 pieces of video content along with travelling the world to Indonesia and India for tech events for the likes of Salesforce and Amazon. It was more than I would have ever thought we’d achieve in two years. Along with this the fact, I was able to leave the business in a place where they could continue to make content without me as we’d built process and workflows. I felt like I achieved everything I had hoped for that company.

My proudest personal moment is when at Film Uni, I made a graduate short film that went on to win a couple small international awards, but the highlight was selling out Dendy Cinemas in Newtown to do a viewing for my friends and family where I had over a 100 friends, family and colleagues attend for a great night where I got to see something I made on the big screen.

Who is the Fede outside of Paramount? What do you love to do on weekends?

Fede outside of Paramount is someone who loves an adventure. Coming from a Venezuelan Australian background and having a mother who’s a very energetic Latina, I’ve always loved to party, see the world or try something new. While loving film and television, I also love my sport. Baseball is a big part of my life, so you best believe on a weekend in summer I’m playing baseball somewhere in Sydney with Latin music playing off my speaker. If I’m not rounding the bases you’ll probably catch me with my Cavoodle, Cosmo running in a park, having a cocktail at a speak easy Jazz bar or enjoying watching the sunset by the water.

What are your top 3 favourite intstagram accounts?

My fave Instagram accounts at the moment are @browncardigan (Rouge Aussie content that leaves you either on the edge of your seat, confused, or concerned), @snytv (the local sports network for the New York Mets, my favorite baseball team) and @letterboxd (a great page covering everything movies)
