Paramount+ Original Drama Dalliance, Now Streaming.
Paramount+ welcomed guests to Sails on Lavender Bay in Sydney to celebrate the launch of its compelling new Australian drama, Dalliance.
The event brought together the show’s stellar cast and production team, including AACTA Award winner, creator and producer Heather Mitchell; two-time Gold Logie winner Georgie Parker; and creator and producer John Edwards, for a candid conversation with 10 News Entertainment Editor Angela Bishop.
Filmed across Sydney, with the Harbour City itself practically a character in the series, Dalliance follows a close-knit group of lifelong friends forced to confront long-buried secrets and the glorious, messy reality of love, friendship and second chances in their sixties.
Angela Bishop dug into what drew the cast and creative team to this story that puts mature, later-life relationships front and centre.
Heather Mitchell spoke about the dual challenge and reward of both starring as Dani and helping shape the series as a producer and creator, while Georgie Parker reflected on ensuring her character, Rose, read as a fully realised woman rather than simply “the wife” caught in the middle of the drama.
John Edwards spoke to his long career telling distinctly Australian stories and why authentic, local drama continues to resonate with global audiences, as well as the importance of humour in balancing the show’s heavier themes of love, jealousy, loyalty and betrayal.
The evening also welcomed cast members Russell Dykstra, Carolyne Bock, John Doyle, Katrina Foster and Ryan Panizza.
Dalliance is now streaming exclusively on Paramount+, and is created by John Edwards, Heather Mitchell, Pip Karmel and Liz Doran, and produced by John Edwards, Heather Mitchell and Dan Edwards. The series is executive produced by Paramount Australia’s Head of Scripted and Comedy, Sophia Mogford, and Pip Karmel, who also serves as story producer. The writing team includes Pip Karmel, Jock Serong, Christopher Lee and Liz Doran, with Matthew Saville and Emma Jackson directing. Dalliance is supported by Screen NSW’s Made in NSW TV Drama Fund.
