I asked my youngest daughter Jet if she would rather be beautiful or smart? She hesitated. I immediately thought there is a documentary in that.

Body image dissatisfaction is a societal crisis, and it is rarely spoken about. We wanted to start that conversation. To use my voice to shine a light on it.

What would you like viewers to take away from Mirror Mirror?

To be cautiously optimistic with ammo for a good conversation around this serious issue.

I would also want them to take away some practical things they could do immediately to help.

Social Media has a huge influence on our perception of body image. Any tips on how to retrain the brain?

The brain is plastic and is constantly adapting to the world around it.

Surround yourself with eclectic minds online, not just beautiful influencers.

We spend over 40% of our waking hours on the internet – it’s possible to make that healthy and enriching.

The cosmetic surgery scenes are quite confronting, were you mentally prepared for what you saw?
