Talking Pride And Strategy With King George!

February 21, 2023

Firstly, we still haven’t recovered from that Tribal Council. Are you the greatest Australian Survivor player there is? Ney, greatest Survivor player of all time?

You’ll be pleased to hear that Simon and Jordie are also still trying to recover from that Tribal Council.

I have the attitude: Glory or Death!

I wanted to make Heroes V Villains the best Survivor season ever for the Australian and worldwide audiences, and that required me to up my game from the Outback with even bigger and more exciting moves. I hit the brief.

Am I the best Australian player? Yes.

Would I destroy American players on US Survivor? Speak to your friends at Paramount’s CBS and I’ll put my words in to action, again.

What did you learn from your first Survivor experience that gave you an advantage going into this season?

I learned to always back my instinct and judgement, and to never miss an opportunity to nurture an idea or maximise an opportunity. Sometimes it took a week of soft campaigning to bear fruit at a later date. Every single night when we do general boring life chat, I would softly remind Jordie about what the audience thought about his “man only” alliance from his first season. Low and behold, this became engrained in his head and eventually hit a sore point.

Why did I do this? Because when you need people to act in a certain way that is beneficial to you, they need to come up with the idea themselves.

On a more basic level, for some reason in the Outback I didn’t realise that we were allowed to scramble and do things at Tribal aside from responding to JLP. The game never stops when the cameras are rolling – and clearly, I do LOTS of things at Tribal Council this season. There’s more to come, make sure you all keep watching.

What is the importance of Pride? What does it mean to you?

To me, Pride is very important because it is about acceptance and visibility.

There is still a lot of work to do with LGBTQ+ acceptance in my community of Bankstown which had the highest “No” vote in Australia. I only felt comfortable coming out myself when I was in my early 20s. It is incredibly important for a person like me, who screams “Bankstown” out to the moon, to play a visible role to help make my socially conservative community open their hearts and minds for positive change and LGBTQ+ acceptance.

How will you be celebrating WorldPride?

I will very proudly be participating in the parade for the first time with the Sydney Rangers Football Club float, praying to the Macedonian Jesus that I don’t forget the dance routine.

Finally, not a question but I love your dog shirt.

Douglas deserves his moment to shine on Channel 10. Like me, he is a good boy, but has some very clear Villain traits.

I will be auctioning the shirt off for charity very soon, I welcome the bid from the Paramount team!
