Oh Hi Five Bedroom’s Katie Robertson!

May 4, 2023

Australia’s favourite housemates have returned home, exclusively to Paramount+!

The highly anticipated new season of Five Bedrooms is now available for all your binging needs.

But be prepared for bombshells, a surprise financial windfall, two graduations, two milestone birthdays, and more.

Here’s Katie Robertson to tell us all about it.

Wow, Season 4! Congratulations! What makes Five Bedrooms the success that it is?

Thank you! I don’t think it’s just one thing.

The writing is exceptional of course and that’s absolutely at the core of it. But I think the key is joy. The show is infused with it.

Among the failures and struggles the characters on the show face, there’s an underlying joy there and I think people can feel that and respond to it.

Also, the people who make it. The cast have such a good time making it, there’s so much love flying around. I think that has to infuse or charge the show in a particular, intangible way.

Looking back at your character from Season 1, what’s been your favourite story arc to play out?

That’s a good question. This may sound counter-intuitive but the thing that jumps to mind is Ainsley losing her baby. It was of course confronting and difficult, but I look back on how the whole team handled that storyline with such care, and I feel immense pride in my part of that story being told.

Now for a hard-hitting question – which cast member is the biggest disrupter on set??

Doris Younane. Although disrupter isn’t quite the word. Boss fits better. She is the boss of the set, and everyone on it!

Which character are you desperate to play either on or off screen? Or is there a particular production (or even reality show) you’ve always wanted to do?

Nothing specific, but I’d love to be in a procedural drama. Like a medical show, with hot doctors and many emergencies. I guess what I’m saying is, I want to be on Greys Anatomy.

What shows are you currently obsessing over?

Obviously, Succession. But I’ve also just finished this INCREDIBLE Irish crime show called Blue Lights. And I’m loving Dead Ringers, Rachel Weisz is amazing.
