What a feel good story for the week! The staff at The Water Cooler were completely blown away by how many of you sent in nominations for so many deserving mums.
We had more entries for this competition than other in the past which goes to show just how many superstar mums we have working here at Paramount.
Congratulations to the following winners. We’ll be in touch to organise your prize!
- Ali Donaldson
- Leanne Hewgill
- Michelle Demkiw
- Sarah Yarwood
- Jayne Higgins
Huge thank you to everyone who sent in nominations and a very happy Mother’s Day to all of those celebrating on the weekend. Here’s just a few of the lovely messages sent in by co-workers:
Julia Burrell. Julia juggles a one-year-old, while reading every newspaper on the planet, watching all the TV news, and listening to the radio ahead of her first editorial meeting at 7.10am to set up the news day. She’s the ultimate multi-tasker and snack maker as she continues to work and prepare her baby for daycare before getting into the office and going all day. What a return from mat leave!
Jean Jenkins. Jean is the mother hen of the marketing team, and mum to two IRL – one of whom has just flew the nest for a stint overseas (sob!). Jean absolutely never switches off and is always looking after others. It’s time she puts her feet up with the spotlight on her for once!
Rebecca Mackinnon. She’s currently on maternity leave after having her first bubba and she’s a beautiful mum to Jasper. Even during her pregnancy, she was working from home and training the newbies in the department so they could fill her spot while she was away.
Cat Donovan. She’s a SUPERWOMAN!!!!
Tasha Smithies. Tasha is a superwoman. She raises four children, each of whom have very busy school and sport schedules, while also looking after Paramount’s litigation and legal clearance work. Tasha is, without fail, calm, collected, wise (the voice of reason!), always smiling and always makes time for everyone in the business no matter how much may be going on behind the scenes.
Rachel Brand. Rach is the hardest working mum I know!
Jess Maxwell. Mum of two, super woman, amazing human and oh-my-gosh the best manager I have ever had. I am a first-time mother who changed jobs during the pandemic, and Jess has made it the easiest transition for me. She is always ready to help with work or with mum/bub questions.
Ali Kerr. Ali is an extraordinary mum and has had to manage a lot with work and lockdowns.
Lisa Edwards. Lisa is a mum to three young children and manages to do an amazing job. She works part time, but that sometimes means fitting full time work into less days, as there are always things coming in on days off.
Therese Buere. Therese is an amazing mum who works her schedule around her kids schedule, getting into the office 7am to be able to drop off and pick up her kids from school and extra-curricular activities! And she’s the designated cleaning lady for her sons’ sports team (not easy washing the team’s smelly uniforms!).
