Legendary Broadcaster Simon Hill Calls Time. Saturday, 31 May At 7pm AEST Live And Exclusive To Network 10, 10 Play And Paramount+.
Saturday night. One city. Two rivals. One last call for a legend.
The Isuzu UTE A-League Men 2025 Grand Final is set to light up your Saturday night as Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City collide in the first-ever Melbourne Derby Grand Final.
After an unforgettable finals series, Melbourne Victory booked their place in the big dance with a stunning upset over Premiers Auckland FC in New Zealand last Saturday. Their reward? A Grand Final date with local cross-town foes Melbourne City, who comfortably overcame Western United 4-1 on aggregate over their two semi-final legs.
But while silverware is up for grabs and bragging rights hang in the balance, this night is about more than just football. Broadcast live and exclusive on Network 10, 10 Play, and Paramount+ from 7pm AEST, fans across the country will not only witness a derby for the ages but also farewell legendary broadcaster Simon Hill who will call his final A-Leagues Grand Final before he returns to the United Kingdom.
Simon’s voice has been the heartbeat of football for over two decades. He has called well over 150 Socceroos internationals, has covered six consecutive World Cups and five Asian Cups. This Saturday will be the sixteenth time Simon calls an A-League Grand Final, and his last.
With a broadcasting career that spans over 30 years across the UK and Australia, Simon’s legacy is unmatched. Since arriving in Australia in 2003, Simon’s role in Australian football has seen him be behind the microphone for many of the milestone moments in the sport’s recent history. He has lent his distinct vocal tone to the A-Leagues since its beginnings and has become the soundtrack to the game’s growth Down Under.
“This Grand Final is the perfect way for me to farewell the A-League – a huge Melbourne Derby, a fixture I’ve enjoyed commentating many times,” Simon said.
“I’ll miss this League and these sorts of occasions, but it’s been an honour and a privilege to be able to work on so many of them.”
Don’t miss a derby destined for the history books and the chance to farewell a voice that helped build the game in Australia.
