Talk about ending the year on a high note! The Challenge Australia will launch on 10 on Monday, November 14 and The Water Cooler was thrilled to sit down with host, Brihony Dawson ahead of the show’s premiere episode.

What an epic experience to host The Challenge Australia. Tell us what it was like for you.
It was an absolute dream come true to combine my love of sport and entertainment in the one show!
I was out in the magical world of Argentina, hosting a new Australian show with such a rich history, and working with some of the best crew in the industry. I will cherish all of the memories I have there.
Had you watched any episodes of The Challenge from other countries before you signed on to host? How did they compare to our version?
I had heard of the show before but once I was put forward as the host, I binged watched a HEAP of it and it suckered me in.
I think our show stacks up really well to the huge US franchise.
We’ve definitely tailored it to an Australian audience and our cast are top notch!
With 22 of Australia’s biggest names in sport, reality and entertainment, which contestants took you by surprise the most?
OOOhhhhh there are too many to name and this is a hard one to answer without giving too much away, but I will say this, you will get to know these celebs like you’ve never known them before. There were a lot of heartfelt moments. I was even in tears one night during the elimination.
What was it like filming in Buenos Aires?
Beunos Aires is such a special place. The people, the culture, the food and the colour. Ugh, just thinking about it now takes me back.
We were so lucky to have access to some really famous but also really remote places in Buenos Aires.
I’m was also lucky not to turn into an actual empanada because I ate so many.
What do you think is the biggest challenge of The Challenge?
The mental game. I know a few people went in thinking they weren’t going to get very far, but when that competition hits and the prize money is on the line… You gotta go hard to go home.
