How Good Are You At Phishing?

July 15, 2022

It may not be the regular fishing we’re all probably used to hearing, but Phishing is a major security threat to Paramount ANZ.

Scammers are always trying to obtain sensitive information, such as your personal information, identity, financial info, and passwords.

Millions of suspicious emails come in every day.

  • 50% are spam
  • Nearly 30% are malicious

Think before you click.

Never respond to or click on links in unsolicited emails that request for personal information or money. Review the context!

Be Vigilant and Verify Authenticity.

Cyber criminals will always attempt to impersonate someone or a company you know. They want to relax your guard, or even try to make you panic! Always check the contents and links in emails, even if it appears genuine. Don’t click straight away!

If the link directs you to a login page, it is always a safer option to manually navigate to the login page yourself through a web browser.

Examples to spot:

Real Fake
networkten.com.au Networktn.com.au or networkten.co
outlook.com Office365-outlook.co or outlo0k365.com

Fake invoices.

Be wary of emails requesting payment of unknown invoices. Contact your team, or enquire with the company through a separate verified communication method such as a phone call, or emailing a different account for confirmation.

When in doubt.

Delete the email, or raise it with us for investigation: cybersecurity@networkten.com.au

Report it.

We have also rolled out a button in Outlook for you to report the email for phishing immediately!
