If you’ve ever needed IT help, and let’s be real we all have, then you may have recognised Wayne Cheung as one of the tech-Gods in Desktop Services.
Now, you may be wondering why Wayne isn’t currently helping you with your Wi-Fi connection issues? It’s because he has made the transition over to the world of Cyber Security as Cyber Security Analyst.
Although he may not be manning the security desk in a black suit and tie, Wayne is certainly just as important helping protect our data and keeping our work safe.
How long have you been Cyber Security Analyst? Tell us about your role.
I have been in the role for just under two months.
I wear many hats in Cyber but ultimately, I manage risk and work with people to make sure the business functions securely.
I work to protect the business from a lot of invisible risk!
What is the best advice you can give us about Cyber Security?
Be vigilant!
Scams and attacks are often designed to catch you off guard. The threat landscape is evolving at a rapid pace. Interesting, uniquely curated and dangerous attacks are constantly crafted.
Attackers are always trying to impersonate and trick you.
You have to read the privacy policies, people!
Don’t click on links or send money to your grandma if she asks you to until you call her.
What do like the most about working at Paramount?
The people. A conversation is always around the corner, whether it is about work, life, jokes or consolation.
Paramount is a really progressive company and it is reflected in its culture, commitments and values. There’s a lot to love. I am surrounded by really encouraging and supportive people.
Free food. Thank you Internal Comms and the News team.
What are your hobbies outside of work?
I have been focused and absorbed in my studies, but taking my dog to the dog park whenever possible gives me sparks of joy.
Since I quit photography, I guess I can call photography a hobby now. Black white film photos with my Hasselblad 501cm. It slows things down just so you can focus on the shot.
If you could trade jobs with one person at Paramount, who would it be?
I would trade jobs with Bev just to make the Christmas party happen early. RuPaul is invited and everyone must dress up as variations of goofy red Christmas trees.
I would trade jobs with someone from production just to get up and get out and relive production days on set.
What show are you addicted to right now?
The Office (US version). Creed is king.
