There are many staff who have worked tirelessly over many months, some years to launch Paramount+ in Australia. Not to mention pulling it all together in the middle of a global pandemic.
So this week, we shine a spotlight on four faces of Paramount +: Liz Baldwin – SVP Head of Streaming, David Bond – Senior Manager PMO, Louise Crompton – VP Marketing and Growth, and Rob Rosenberg – Creative Director, Streaming.
What program are you most excited about on Paramount+ and why?
Liz: I really loved Five Bedrooms, so I can’t wait for the new season on P+ to launch. I’m excited to see what the housemates get up to next! I also love a blockbuster movie, so I’m really looking forward to watching Infinite with a big bowl of popcorn.
Rob: I’m most excited for Yellowjackets. I’ve seen a screener for episode 1 and it was awesome. Great cast, amazing soundtrack, and the first ep has me hooked!
Louise: Well that’s a hard question to answer as there are so many great new shows to watch that you can’t find anywhere else! I’ve seen a sneak peek of Two Weeks To Live, which is a punchy crime drama with a slice of British humour – it looks like a lot of fun. Also I loved the first season of Five Bedrooms so bring on season 2!
David: Anchorman! Because it stars Will Ferrell; a comedian who is so committed that he sung I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston as part of his 2017 USC Commencement Speech. The whole song. Watch it here: https://youtu.be/mfjGmBVAL-o
What’s been the best part about working on the launch?
Rob: This has been a MASSIVE undertaking. The best part is, we’re part of history. There’s only a handful of streaming services in this country. We get to be there at the start of this amazing new service and not only launch a streamer, but one with a huge heritage that boasts some of the world’s most iconic brands.
Liz: It’s really exciting! It’s incredible to be part of the team that’s launching a global streaming service in this market. Paramount+ offers unparalleled content at a really great price point. I’m really proud of the product and I think Australia will love it.
David: With the challenges of COVID, focusing on the delivery of Paramount+ has been a welcome distraction. Being part of a global team that has delivered a fantastic platform has been amazing!
Louise: Working with such a talented and hardworking team, it’s been a privilege and the real fun is just about to begin!
