This week The Water Cooler caught up with Adelaide Publicity Manager and all round ball of sunshine and rainbows, Nina Postema!
Tell us a bit about what your role as Adelaide Publicity manager entails.
Managing and strategising the publicity for our brands, programming and talent initiatives within the South Australian market. Also working with our local marketing and sponsorships division to capitalise on as many local opportunities to promote all aspects of our business. And most recently, working across publicity for Nickelodeon.
So essentially a lot of wrangling!
You recently took on publicity for Nickelodeon and Nick Jr., what’s it been like working on those brands?
Very fun, exciting and eye-opening. It turns out SpongeBob really is a global phenomenon and it’s a full-time job in itself managing his popularity among the fans!
It has been fascinating to learn more about the Viacom side of the business and beyond traditional linear programming initiatives. The span of our Nickelodeon brands is really quite tremendous from programming, to consumer products, partnerships, events and experiences. And I must say… I also now don’t feel as much Mum guilt when I succumb to my kids demands of one more episode of PAW Patrol, as I take this extended screen time as essential “research”!
What do you love most about working at 10 ViacomCBS?
The opportunities and scope of our entire business. Working for our big global company across various brands and streams has been very rewarding. No day is the same and I feel very fortunate to be a part of the 10 ViacomCBS family.
Plus, as cliché as it may sound… The people within our business really are special. Coming to work each day and being surrounded by such talented, inspiring, kind and hardworking people makes this job all the more enjoyable and I have been fortunate to forge some very special friendships with both past and present employees.
What’s something about the Adelaide office people might find surprising?
The Adelaide station is in fact relocating! Yes, we will be heading to a fancy new location in the coming months. Stay tuned for more updates on our new home.
What do you love to do outside of work?
My time outside of work involves another form of wrangling – my two darling children (well three if you also count my husband!).
The working week is very much a mad juggle between daycare and kindy drop offs, kids sport, working, and everything in between.
So, we like to enjoy as much special family time as possible and embrace the slower pace when we can. Exploring outdoors, beach walks, ticking off yet another park visit, catching-up with friends and family or entertaining at home with yummy food.
And when the kids are asleep (and actually stay asleep) I love to don a face mask (the hydrating face plumping kind #goodbyetiredeyes) and sip on a G&T (or two) while I binge watch something on P+ of course! Have you seen the new iCarly? Forgive me, I wouldn’t be doing my job if I didn’t throw in a little plug 😊
