Last week, we met Alexandra Dorante, one of our wonderful new interns through our partnership with Career Trackers.
Career Trackers is a national program that creates paid internship opportunities for Indigenous students that create lasting employment opportunities.
This week, we are excited to introduce you to Laura Rose, who has joined Daniel Monaghan’s team in our Sydney office.
Welcome Laura!
What are you most excited about starting this internship?
When starting my internship here at 10 ViacomCBS, I’ll be working on Studio 10 under Tamara Simoneau.
I’m super excited about experiencing the behind the scenes operations and how a team works collectively to produce the talk show.
I feel I will learn a lot and be able to apply my studies practically.
What particular areas of media interest you the most?
I am most interested in documentary!
I have the privilege to work on The Dog House Australia and I am super excited to work on set and see how the producers create a show that is so widely loved right now. It’ll be interesting to see how they make the calls, create the story and work/think on their feet.
What made you want to intern at 10 ViacomCBS?
Network 10 has been a channel that was constantly on my TV growing up as a child.
It’s a dream and privilege to able to work on a network that I have admired for so long.
It’s also one of the biggest networks in Australia and so this practical experience allows me to apply my studies to real-world situations and gain on-set experience from some of the most experienced and admired producers/filmmakers in Australia.
What do you love to do outside of work/study?
I enjoy socialising with friends, and adventuring around Sydney’s restaurants and venues.
I love to catch-up on the latest TV such as Morning Wars – which is quite ironic.
I also love listening to music and going to gigs!
What TV Show are you loving right now?
As mentioned, I do love Morning Wars, it’s a great drama, starring and produced by powerhouse women. It has great stakes and discusses such topical issues.
I also love watching some reality TV… it’s a guilty pleasure as a film student. I really enjoyed watching The Bachelorette with Brooke Blurton and also Ru Pauls Drag Race UK.
