This week, The Water Cooler got to know the delightful Karinne Sbrugnera, Manager of International Business Operations. Karinne is one of many local Paramount employees that work across the global business, supporting both linear and streaming including Channel Operations, Global Fulfilment Operations, Global Content Operations, O&O Vid Op and Live Vid Ops.
Tell us a bit about yourself and what led you to Paramount?
My journey with the company started as a humble receptionist eight years ago. A year down the track, I joined Channel Operations as a Presentation Scheduler for Viacom linear channels. As the streaming world continues to flourish, I jumped at the opportunity to join the P+ team as Manager of International Business Operations.
As Manager of International Business Operations, can you tell us about your role, what regions you work across and what is involved?
I act as a regional representative for Biz Ops Int and am the primary contact in Australia for Int streaming. I funnel information between the local and International teams, acting as a bridge between the two. I keep across local and International projects/priorities, help develop operational workflows and am accountable for the global tracker.
It’s really interesting that you work with the global Paramount family. Can you pls explain the ‘Follow The Sun” model and how that works?
As P+ continues to grow, it’s important that we have a 24hr service available to accommodate all regions. The ‘follow the sun’ module allows coverage for each country and their whacky time zones.
Many of us are not aware of the scope of the international teams in Australia. Can you please give us a bit of an overview of our teams here in Aus?
We have gathered quite the gang here in Sydney who is part of International teams. We currently cover roles for Live Events Streaming, Media Supply Chain, Global Video Operations, Sites and Apps Mgmt, Copy Write and Business Operation. The team will, no doubt, continue to grow.
Out of all the regions you work with, is there one you would like to visit most? Or if you have visited – do you have a favourite? Any holiday plans?
Being part of the APAC cluster, I was lucky enough to be invited to South Korea for the launch of P+ on a partner platform. I took the opportunity to holiday there afterwards, (because it would be rude not to!) which was amazing. Lots of noodles were consumed!
