Tell us what it was like competing in London in 2012!
A pinch yourself moment. Hearing the national anthem for the first time prior to opening game was pretty special. We missed out on medal rounds through goal difference, which in hindsight is frustrating, but still to represent Australia at an Olympics is something I am proud of.
What’s your fondest memory from that experience?
Life around the village is probably the most bizarre. Heading to the dining hall to see the calibre of athletes like Usain Bolt, Roger Federer and Lauren Jackson is very surreal. Also the closing ceremony featured a comeback from the Spice Girls. So no matter who you are that’s got to be exciting!
Where do you keep your Gold Medals?
Sadly no Olympic medals to put in the sock drawer, but my Commonwealth Games and World Cup medals are in their cases in a wicker basket stored in the loungeroom after moving. They usually get to come out for school talks.
Who are you most excited to see compete in Tokyo?
There a few players in the Hockeyroos and Kookoburras that I played alongside, so I always get excited to watch them in action. I also have a soft spot for the Matildas, so have tuned in to watch them.
What’s your favourite 10 ViacomCBS show?
I love Australian Survivor and have been known to attend a few Survivor finale parties. If I was on Australian Survivor I feel like I would never find the immunity idol, given most of my mornings are spent trying to find my car keys.
What do you love to do in your spare time?
I can be found working hard on becoming the favourite Aunty to my four beautiful niece and nephews, coaching Hockey for local club Suburban Lions, or marrying loved up couples as a Marriage Celebrant.
