Do You Have Tree-mendous Plans This Summer?

December 8, 2021

As our final edition of The Water Cooler for the year, we reached out to our wonderful staff to find out what their plans are for Christmas and what they’re hoping to get from Santa!

What will you be doing over the Christmas break?

Craig Howlett – Promos, Sydney: “I’ll be doing cross fit classes everyday … kidding! I’ll be stuffing my face with food.”

Nick Wood – 10 News First, Adelaide: “I’ll be heading to the river at Renmark over the Christmas break with my wife, our three boys and some friends to spend a week out on the water and in the sun!”

Jessica Cameron – Sales, Perth: “I’ll be relaxing and spending lots of time with my friends and family. We’ve also booked a few days down south in Albany to spend post-Christmas with my Dad.”

Jodie Garth – HMU Sydney: “I love this time of year, although it has been a challenging one for us all. I just love that everyone is always festive. The shops decorated and the Christmas tree lights. Love a bit of sparkle!”

Peter Daniells – Production, Sydney: “Catching up with family and friends, going to the beach and clocking up a few k’s on my bicycle to work off Christmas lunch!”

What do you love most about this time of year?

Tiffany Rollond – Communications and Sponsorships, Adelaide: “The beach, the barbeques and watching the kids open presents. We still have one true believer so the joy on Christmas morning is magical.”

Diana Ramljak – Reception, Sydney: “Christmas is my favourite time of the year – I love how everyone comes together to celebrate this special holiday. I love giving pressies and putting a smile on everyone’s faces. I love the happiness it brings to kids when you see them meet Santa at the shops. It’s truly a special time of the year.”

Lee Steele – 10 News First, Perth: “Balmy evenings, summer BBQs, plum puddings, Boxing Day sales and re-runs of Love Actually.”

Katie Urquhart – Traffic, Brisbane: “I love being surrounded by the atmosphere of people celebrating the season, but I mostly am looking forward to the corny Christmas cracker jokes. What do you get when you cross a snowman with a vampire? Frostbite!”

Jade Pappas (nee Karam) – Marketing, Sydney: “I love fighting over whose house we are going to spend Christmas at and trying to fit seeing everyone in. It’s chaos and stressful, but it’s the best part of the Christmas break.”

Kate Campbell – Publicity, Sydney: “I absolutely love that time between Christmas and New Year when you start to forget what day it is and the summer just feels endless. Cheeky sleep ins, demolishing Christmas leftovers, arvo swims at Gordons Bay and endless pub crawls through the inner west. It doesn’t get much better than that!”

Peter Daniells – Production, Sydney: “I really enjoy seeing my two boys getting so excited with the end of school, holidays and their curiosity of trying to work out what’s under the Christmas tree.”

What are you hoping Santa will bring you this year?

Jade Pappas (nee Karam) – Marketing, Sydney: “I’m all about the simple things in life, so nothing too extravagant please Santa…I just need the new MacBook Pro 16inch please.”

Sophie Kidd – Publicity, Melbourne: “I would love to see Santa leave a nice piece of jewellery under the tree this year.”

Kate Campbell – Publicity, Sydney: “I’m an absolute make-up and beauty junkie so fingers and toes crossed Santa’s Sleigh is jam packed with MECCA and SEPHORA vouchers this year. But look, as long as there is a Cadbury chocolate stocking sitting under that tree, I’m one happy gal.”

Marcela Vecino, Melbourne: “No more COVID, that’s all I want, so I can go to see my family without issues.”

Diana Ramljak – Reception, Sydney: “Santa knows I have been good (haha) I don’t really want much – but I wouldn’t mind a beautiful large white orchid. I just want everyone to be happy and enjoy the holiday season.”

Peter Daniells – Production, Sydney: “A good book and a nice bottle of wine!”
