Kate Freebairn – News Presenter, 10 News First Adelaide

Congratulations on your new role! How does it feel to be the lead News anchor back in your home-town of Adelaide?

It’s really exciting to be heading back to work after a year at home with my daughter Airlie. I’ve really missed chats with colleagues and connecting with our Adelaide audience – so I’m feeling very lucky to be able to return from mat leave in a new role that will give me a new challenge!

How important is it to have a local News bulletin? What impact does it have on the audience?

I believe a local news bulletin is the beating heart of a TV network – it’s the place our viewers can really connect with us, and feel a part of what we do. South Australians are very proud – so local bulletins allow us to give them what they want – and that’s the latest on what’s going on where they live.

Max Burford – Sport Presenter, 10 News First Adelaide

Congratulations on your new role! You’ve been a long-time viewer of 10’s sport coverage. How does it feel to be on the other side presenting?

I have fond memories from my childhood switching on 10’s news for the sport, and now to be on the other side is going to be surreal. Hopefully some other sport loving kids get the same kick out of it as I did. Let’s also hope none of them are good enough to take my job in the next 20 years!

What does 10 News Sport do better than anyone else?

We have a slighter tone and more entertaining way of reporting on sport which, at the end of the day, is an entertainment product. We (10 News First Adelaide) have an excellent rapport with the sports people that we spend our days talking about which results in the engaging product that it is.

Tiffany Warne – Weather Presenter, 10 News First Adelaide

Congratulations on your new role! What are you most looking forward to in this new role

I can’t wait to be out and about every night in different spots across SA, putting a fun spin on weather, having fun with talent and making Adelaide really SHINE (pardon the sun pun, I’m just really leaning into this weather girl title).

What makes you passionate about being a 10 News First reporter (and now presenter) and in particular, working with the Adelaide team

Our 10 News First newsroom is like a family – I’m very proud of the team I work with, who always make it a fun environment. It’s an incredible job because no two days are the same, and we are really given the opportunity to inject our own personalities into each story.
