If you’re anything like us, you’ve been highly stressed watching The Challenge: Global Championship and extremely thankful that you’re doing so from the safety of your couch!
Streaming Exclusively On Paramount+, The Challenge: Global Championship is a mammoth international crossover series that sees competitors from Australia, USA, UK and Argentina fight for the ultimate title of Global Champion.
We sat down with host, Brihony Dawson to get all the intel ahead of the launch. They refused to give us spoilers, but we had a good chat, regardless!
Congratulations! How did you feel when you got the call up to be one of the hosts of The Challenge: World Championship?
I was ecstatic to get the call up to be a part of The Challenge: World Championship. To work with TJ, Marley and Mark was an honour and we all had a blast together in South Africa.
What can viewers expect from the World Championship, compared to the Australian season?
Some hefty competition and a lot of surprises. The first challenge was really taxing in every possible way, it really set the tone and my Aussies did me proud. The main difference between the world champs and the Aussie season… the all-stars. They’re veterans of the game, and they know it. They played every rookie like a Stradivarius.
The World Championship series consists of competitors from Australia, USA, UK and Argentina. Which competitors surprised you the most? And were there any you were super excited to watch from the international side?
It was the Aussies who surprised me the most. They really brought their A game to the international stage. And I think they surprised a lot of other people too.
How do the Australian competitors stack up against their international competition?
Ain’t nobody got nothin on our Aussies.
Finally, we just celebrated two amazing weeks of WorldPride. How did you celebrate?
I took my little queer ass to Sydney and celebrated and held on for dear life until we were done. It was so special to host world pride and honour all the people who have fought so hard for our equality. And we’ll keep fighting.
