Love is back in the air, Osher is at the ready and Brooke Blurton is about to embark on the ride of her life!
We caught up with Brooke ahead of the premiere episode of The Bachelorette Australia to talk all things love and cocktail parties.
How did it feel going back into the mansion as the Bachelorette?
Surreal and dream-like.
Never in a million years would I have thought that I would be The Bachelorette. I’m still processing that I’ve just done it.
Having now been on both sides, is it harder being the Bachelorette or being a contestant?
I think both have difficult parts, but this time around I loved being the driver and not a passenger.
Making choices for you is much easier than just going with the flow and not knowing what is at hand.
I loved being the one making the decisions and coming up with ideas too.
You’re the first Indigenous and bisexual Bachelorette, which must make you feel incredibly proud.
It really does. I feel incredibly proud every day.
How has the reaction been from the public?
For the moment, really positive. I’ve seen so much excitement but I’ve also seen some negative comments.
You’re always going to have negative critics.
I have thick skin.
What does love mean to you?
Love is non-defiant. It means something for everyone so differently.
For me love is loving something unconditionally, love for yourself, love for your family, your community and your culture.
The Bachelorette Australia.
Premieres Wednesday, 20 October At 7.30pm.
