For the past 16 years, 10 has been a proud media partner with the Brisbane Fashion Festival and last week, 10 turned it on once again for the city’s most stylish event held at Brisbane city’s heart, King George Square.

The Brisbane Fashion Festival is Queensland’s premier fashion event showcasing the very best Queensland and Australian fashion designers, including leading industry names, homegrown favourites, and the brightest next-gen talent.

This year’s event featured more than 50 designers, including local, national and new designers, as well as labels from some of Brisbane’s hottest retail destinations that struck a cord with audiences seeing the Festival’s runway shows sell-out in record time attracting more than 3,000 fashion fans.

10 News First had front-row runway seats giving Queenslanders all the style, glamour and ambience of the five-day festival including the very first look at Australia’s coming Spring/Summer fashions.

Live reports from each night of the festival ran seamlessly alongside state, national and international stories in the 10 News First bulletins, showing the calibre of this premier event and 10’s commitment to keeping viewers informed on what’s happening at home and around the world.

Brisbane born and bred Sandra Sully, 10 News First anchor and fashion icon, provided her style and panache to the festival program doing live crosses to Studio 10 from the High Tea and Designer Salon Showing and MCing the glamorous runway launch event, The Star Brisbane Fashion Show with Brisbane’s Lord Mayor, Adrian Schrinner.

Sandra said: “As a diehard Queenslander and lover of fashion, it was such a highlight for me to be a part of this prestigious event in my hometown and also to wear stunning jewellery from long-term festival supporter and Queensland jeweller Margot McKinney.

“Not only do we give viewers all the stories they need to know on 10 News First but also the stories they want to see with reports that entertain and delight audiences which is exactly what our coverage of the Brisbane Fashion Festival achieved.”
